Carburetor

I recently made adjustments to my carburetor as outlined in RIDER. I removed the white spacer and I mixed out the air/fuel screw while adjusting the idle screw. The bike has a lot more power and no more backfire. But, my fuel economy has decreased 20%. Did I open the air/fuel screw too much?
